Live from Halifax: “The Importance of Early Intervention and How to Reduce Stigma”

Third in a series of onstage conversations on matters vital to today’s thought leaders, opinion makers, and policy creators

On May 9, 2011 at Halifax’s Neptune Theatre, The Walrus Foundation partnered with RBC to present the third in a series of onstage conversations about child and youth mental health.

This event featured a lively conversation between Dr. Alexa Bagnell (associate chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, IWK Health Centre; assistant professor, Department of Psychiatry, Dalhousie University), Aaron Goodwin (Youth Council for the Mental Health Commission of Canada; Laing House), and Dr. Jean Hughes (RN, PhD, associate professor/research scientist, Department of Psychiatry, IWK Health Centre, Dalhousie University). Our moderator was veteran journalist and broadcaster and mental health activist, Valerie Pringle.

We were delighted to be able to bring this important conversation to the mental health community and to Halifax. RBC and The Walrus will continue to program their Conversation Series throughout 2011 and 2012.
